Founded in 1973 by Baxter G. Simpson, P.E., Apple Tree Contractors, Inc., is a full-service general contractor, specializing in the construction and renovation of commercial and industrial buildings.
Prior to starting Apple Tree with a small loan and an abundance of determination, Baxter worked for his father’s construction company, B.G. Simpson Builders, in Rock Hill. Prior to that, he worked as a project manager for E.I. DuPont in Camden, S.C. He graduated from Clemson College in 1964 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and earned his Professional Engineer’s license in 1969.
Baxter’s son, Chad Simpson, joined Apple Tree in 2003. He manages the family’s portfolio of commercial, industrial, and residential rental properties, and he is also a project manager and licensed contractor.
Baxter’s daughter, Sloane Simpson, joined the company in 2005, and she serves as the company’s bookkeeper and office manager.
Chad’s wife, Allison Simpson, joined the company in 2013. She manages its Stor-A-Way Self Storage facility, and also assists in office management.
